[forums]An odd Good Lovin' from the late period .
Posted by Dudley Dead on Feb 7, 2013 12:12pm into GratefulDead
One of my least favorite ways to end a Dead show, mid 80's through the end was their "Jimmy Buffetish" Good Lovin' . If I make a highlights tape, guess which song is first to be tossed ( along with LLR) . Sometimes in the early 80's , it can really get going, and even I have to admit to enjoying it . But here, in 94, they take a opposite approach , a slight slower, more deliberate, almost " latin" approach, as if in the back of someone's mind was a Cal Tjader , or Tito Puente ......

"being a little more droolingly, knuckle-dragging moronic?" Rob, I've had the "drooling k-d moron" meter pegged for sometime now. It can't be that. I cannot figure why some people find this forum intimidating. It was once a bit more wild-west. Dire and Tito(it's still not about fuckin' rainbows and unicorns people.) and TT and Loogy and Smi2les.....those were some wild(er) times. Now, I'd say this place is rather tame and the inmates are quite well behaved......

I thought so... this guy makes me look like rachel maddow (with a smaller package)... what's with the caps lock? I gave up arguing on here long ago when my world changed and I realized that trying to convince tito that I was less of an asshole than he was is pointless. I do like to shed some light on the hypocrisy of the democratic party though, if anyone is interested. I was there in '84 as well, had a blast, but can't immediately recall any tune that was distinctive other than a sloppy, albeit first, Mr. Fantasy and the second US Blues (wave it high). That said, I loved seeing shows at Red Rocks and the Greek for outdoor venues. I may have seen a better show in '83 at Hartford, but Hartford sucks as a place to spend time (hey TITO!).
